Save the date, folks: on Saturday January 28th I’m running a special one-day Swift conference entirely online! It will be a whole day of workshops with live coding and Q&A, focusing on SwiftUI, networking, testing, and performance. The event runs from 9am to 4pm US Eastern time.

Free birthday livestream – SwiftUI for charity

December 22nd is my birthday, and once again I’ll be live-streaming a SwiftUI tutorial to help raise money for folks experiencing homelessness this winter.

These events are always a lot of fun and I know many people benefit – not only from learning something new, but also thanks to the very generous donations from around our community.

SwiftUI by Example update

Last month I published the biggest ever update to SwiftUI by Example, adding lots of new sample code plus 100 more Xcode projects to download.

The initial goal was to update the book for iOS 16, but I ended up going back and adding coverage of functionality introduced in iOS 15 and even 14 – this update is just packed with extra code, improved examples, and more.

News from friends

In the next few months we have two amazing conferences coming up, and I hope to see you at one of them!

First is iOS Conf SG in Singapore. They won Best Conference at last year’s Swift Community Awards, so you can be sure you’ll learn something new and have a great time too.

The second is Deep Dish Swift from Josh Holtz of Fastlane fame, and is doing wonders to revive the conference scene in the US. Josh has been telling us all how Chicago has the best pizza in the world, so come and find out for yourself! (And learn some Swift too.)
